A native of East Rockaway, New York, attorney Marc Rovner serves as general counsel and director of business development at BETA Abstract, LLC. Away from his responsibilities as an attorney, Marc Rovner contributes to Ronald McDonald House Charities, which operates such facilities across the country as Ronald McDonald House New York.
Established in 1978, Ronald McDonald House New York supports children with cancer and their families. The facility, located in Manhattan, has provided temporary housing for more than 30,000 families from around the world. The nonprofit’s goal is to keep families together during the treatment process in order to create a positive and caring environment for patients.
The house accommodates 84 families, and it costs $295 per family per night to remain operational. Fortunately, generous donations by the public reduce the cost of each family’s stay to, at most, $35 per night.
Monetary contributions of any amount are welcome at http://www.rmh-newyork.org. Donors may choose how their funds are used or elect to have Ronald McDonald House New York apply the funds where there is the greatest need. In addition, donors can leave gifts in memory or honor of a loved one.
